Pencil brands

Does anyone have any good suggestions on pencil brands? We homeschool and the last three rands of pencils we have bought all broke repeatedly while sharpening. It's ridiculous! I can't spend all day sharpening pencils and for the pencil to barely be a nub by the end of the day because the lead is broken on the inside! I am going to order pencils on amazon and would like some brand suggestions. Something without repeatedly broken leads inside!

The supply lists for my kindergartner's school all asked for "American-made" pencils because they tend to perform better than imported brands do. I'd say to go for anything made by Dixon Ticonderoga, personally.

Thanks for the tip. The local stores only have off brands and so far every single one of them have been absolutely terrible. I have spent all day every school day sharpening those stupid pencils.

@Samanthavv What about using mechanical pencils? I prefer those over traditional wooden ones most of the time. No sharpening required with those!

I wonder why you do not use mechanical pencil. At least you do not have to sharpen the pencils, and if the lead breaks, you can easily replace it with another one.
