A Big Clean Up...

I went for a Walk down our beach today.... only to find... instead of pristine white sand... loads and loads of slimy mucky green washed up seaweed... it looks terrible..
We had a bad thunder storm and torrential rain most of Sunday night and Monday morning... but my friend who was down the beach on Monday afternoon, didn't notice it... , so it may have washed up tuesday..., but it looks a right mess... and is acting as a barrier to people wanting to sit on the beach or get into the sea...
I'm surprised they have not cleaned it up... the town council is usually very quick at cleaning up the beach, as it's a valued asset to the town... as a winter resort...
the picture is not our beach... but that is what our beach looked like this morning...

Well I am sure they will get to it quickly. I do love to walk on the beach but it is about 30 miles away.

@sueznewz2 Algae are very good as fertilizer, it is possible they move the algae in the fields.

@simone10 no but it's drying out so it does not look so bad... but it's still there... but people were walking through it... to get into the sea....

Yes me too... for us locals and we have lots of people come to this area over winter ..but if it looks like that they won't.... Its one of the top 10 beaches in Europe...its usually pristine....

I hope they clean it up, or it washes away again x

I saw a lot of that last winter In the Dominican Republic, Most of the resorts along the shore had tractors but our place had humans, it took a lot longer but they did a great job.
