Palm Trees are growing in Dallas neighborhoods!

The Palm Tree is a fundamental tree of Christian faith. There are a number of Christians from many denominations in Dallas, Texas. I am blessed to live in such a city where almost all forms of religion are practiced. The neighbors in my area of the city grow palm trees where space permits and when weather allows. I think they are often taken for granted in Southern Florida and Southern California, where the Ocean breeze and bright sunshine are a constant factor. I once went to church called Saint Cecilia's on Davis Street, in Dallas, Texas on what Catholics call Palm Sunday. As I recall recently, the Pope and millions of people celebrated this event in a way that I have never seen it before. It was inspirational and sad at the same time.

We celebrated Palm Sunday in my younger days and we weren't Catholic.

I know. It is a Christian event. But as a Catholic I was made aware of the significance of this sacred celebration. I hope you were not in any way offended. I respect all forms of Christian faith. I have actually been going to Bible Study online because I am falling behind in my studies.

@lookatdesktop I am not in the least offended. The mention of Palm Sunday actually brought back cherished childhood memories of watching our small country church decorated with palm leaves for Palm Sunday church services Thanks for the memories.

I am Catholic and every year we celebrate the "Palm Sunday". It falls on the Sunday before Easter and it commemorates the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
