Family pictures this weekend

I was busy all weekend again. We had several things we wanted to get done and only managed to get a few of them done. Then there were the things that got added to our to do list that I hadn't planned on doing at all. It was a nice weekend so we decided to try to get some pictures of our three kids together. I usually try for a group picture of them each year to send out with our Christmas cards. I had given up hope of getting the picture this year since I hadn't done it and it's already November. Thankfully the weather was nice so we were able to get it done. Hopefully some of the pictures will have turned out nicely. I haven't really looked at them yet. Then my mom mentioned that she would like a family picture of us since the last one we gave her was from when my youngest was still a baby, she's 7 now. I was hoping to do professional ones this year, but things happened and we don't have the extra money for them. My mom volunteered to take the pictures, well she volunteered my dad to take them, so we went and did that yesterday afternoon. I even took a few of them since they haven't had any of them recently either. I really hope some of them turned out. It would be nice to finally be able to have a new family picture up on my wall.

I hope so too. I have several pictures of my kids up, but only one small family picture up. I took down the old one and replaced it with one of the three kids together since the little one had changed so much. Even that one is old, she was three in that one and just a baby in the family one. It will be nice to get a family one up again.

I've been in homes where you can barely see the walls for photos. I think it's a great idea but we haven't done it.

That's the beauty of digital isn't it? If you take enough photos you should get at least a few good ones.

@JudyEv That's one thing I really like about digital cameras. I can take as many pictures as I want and can choose the ones that look the best.

I thought the digital world had taken over photography. I have loads of albums of photos taken before the digital photography came into existence. Sadly no one wants to see them these days. They prefer what I post them in emails. I am slowly converting all of them by scanning them. Do you have albums too taken by professional photographers?

I have many photo albums of pictures I have taken myself and a few of pictures that were taken by a professional. I like to have both digital and print copies of my pictures and tend to share both. The print ones I only send out at Christmas time and then I share digitally throughout the year.

Thank you, I hope I can find a few a really like. The kids had fun because they were able to climb on a tree that was partially laying down.

So far I've only briefly looked at them and there seemed to be a few that look like they may have turned out decent enough. I still need to look at them more closely to decide which ones I want.

We really need to get ours done, it is so hard to get so many people to all smile at the same time though. It is quite a chore to get them done

Several of ours had at least one person not smiling, or their eyes were shut, or they were looking the wrong way. Thankfully we have digital cameras so we can pick out just the good ones to order.

Christmas in Australia is hot and dry. We took photos years ago to pop in with Christmas cards but we took them in winter and we're all rugged up in woollies.

I've taken some of our pictures in winter, but I don't like to. It ends up giving me little time to get the cards in the mail on time. I still take pictures of the kids by the Christmas tree most years, but those are mainly for us.
