Spoiler alerts – Marvel – 2014 A clever idea for Hulk stories in that SHIELD are often seen as trying to capture or kill him. Here, he ends up working for them for a series of five untitled adventures. The first shows how he comes to be hired. SHIELD send assassins to kill him in his human form as Bruce Banner but Banner makes a deal with them using his science know-how to create technology they need. He also shows that if they need him, he can be taken to a battlefield where they need him to turn into the Hulk and wipe out the real enemies of the United States. He gets a trial run when he devastates the HQ of a united Ultron and Mad Thinker, which proves rather too easy but much of the better writing is Banner negotiating his usefulness to SHIELD. A well drawn and thought out first segment to the short series. Arthur Chappell
