Do you drink soda?

So I am a big soda drinker and I know how bad it is for you. I never used to drink it but it has become a bad habit recently. Anybody else out there drink soda? If not is it because you don't care for it or for health reasons?

I never drink soft drinks like soda (we don't have that commonly in the UK) nor cola, coke or anything that is full of artificial additives.

Oh, I had no idea soda wasn't common in the UK. Is it the same for Great Britain and other places around UK? Yes I going to try and stop drinking the stuff all together soon.

@chance216 Soda in the UK is generally a term for Sodium, be it Sodium carbonate, Sodium bicarbonate, Sodium hydroxide or Sodium oxide. Most of those you would not want to drink!

It's the one vice I just can't seem to give up! I used to drink 5-6 sodas a day, but I have been trying to cut down. My ultimate goal is to only have one per day, perhaps at lunch. I've been drinking a lot more water lately, but I've also found that as I drink less soda I am drinking more coffee. I guess its a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario with me! lol

@Auntylou it's definitely the caffeine! But, I am finding that I really enjoy drinking coffee in the morning! Just the smell of it brewing in the kitchen in the morning makes me want to wake up and start my day!

Maybe you are missing the caffeine you find in some sodas!

I like drinking soda because it is sweet. I know it is not healthy to drink a lot of soda. So I will try drink it less. But I will not avoid it totally. Sometimes we need to treat ourselves right. We shall enjoy our lives.

Trouble is that our desire for sweet food stems from times when it was hard to find, and now, though we don't need those calories it is making us unhealthy

Then you better start reducing it, and use the saving to buy the shares of the soda company. Selling water is extremely profitable. The cost is low, and the selling price is high. They pay more for marketing, and bottle design than the ingredients to make the soda.

I used to be a big Dr Pepper fiend, but it always had to be fountain! I gave it up a few months ago, and have no urge for it anymore. I tried one a couple of weeks ago and I found it too sweet.

I have never liked fizzy drinks since I was a child and am really glad of it, especially now that we read about all the sugar content

Both sodas with sugar and so called diet sodas are harmful to our health, so reading more about the dangers, should help to to avoid drinking them. According to Dr Mercola, there are 76 ways that sugar can ruin our health. I did a search and found these articles Also cancer cells stop growing, if they don't get sugar, so that should give us a good motivation to avoid it.
Read and learn more about sugar from these Mercola.com articles.

I do not drink soda. I used to drink soda a lot as a child but not anymore. I just don't like how it makes me feel.

I some times take it because it affects our teeth and stomach system very badly so we should avoid it to some extent.
