Looking for a pup again

We lost our dog a year and eight months ago today. We had been on our holiday and the care taker had let her out to play in the drive way without supervision.
Since she was a small dog and dark colored too no one saw her running after her ball.
A neighbor who was backing out his car ran over her. I never wanted another dog after her.. until now. The last few days I am looking at all online advertisements for adoption of dogs.
I really can't seem to find the right one for us.. But I know one when I see one.
I know I will be happy to have another dog now. We have all been so sad since Choco was with us for 13 years .. she was our perfect pet - obedient, loving, funny and peaceful.
I hope I find one soon to make us happy.

You will know it when you see the right dog and you will give is a wonderful home. It won't make up for your loss but it will give you a new lease on life...been there/done that.

@AbbyGreenhill Absolutely agree with you.. It won't make up for the loss but will surely make us happy. Thank you.. a friend of mins has been saying this to me for months.. I should have listened to him much earlier.

@sofssu We lost our 13 1/2 year old 4 years ago - I said no more dogs, 3 days later we got Ruby - she made us smile again. Go for it!

Oh that is so sad! But happy that she graced ya'll for as long as she was able. And out there somewhere is another dog would love your forever!

@Jessicalynnt We have lovely memories of her.. I am sure there is another dog out there though I didn't believe that a few months ago.

@Jessicalynnt I agree with you completely. I guess we have more love in our heart to take in a few more dogs .. but I guess right now I will look for one.

@sofssu Its very hard and something that has to come in your time, but i will note this, every dog will love you just as much, in their own way, and those out there need love. Your much missed mooch would, I really do think, want you to keep on loving, and might be sad that you are lonely and dont have a dog to watch over you

@Marilynda1225 I am keeping my fingers crossed. I would prefer a pup to a grown dog.. but the right could be anything.

What a tragic way to lose your dog, I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully you will be able to find the right dog for you now. We got our dog, as a puppy, from one of the local shelters. The ones around here let you come meet the animals and spend time with them to help decide if it's the right one for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can feel your pain. My childhood dog Buddy was put to sleep, long time ago, when he was 13 years old. I was about 11 and my brother was 13 at the time. Always cherish the memories of Choco to remember her. You'll find the right one someday.

How sad to lose your dog like that. My mom had a little black terrier and she ran it over. Can you imagine? She was heart broken. I hope you find your dog. Let us know, okay?

That is beyond my nightmare. I am so sorry about how you lost that innocent fur person. I hope it is the right time for you to find another. There are so many needy souls just aching for love and hugs.
