My mother in law has now decided to renovate her house so she has called now some techonicians and painters to get an estimate of expenses .She wants her house to be updated but i believe a renovation in a residing house is very difficult to be done .Anyways we hsve to bear these difficulties.Do you renovate your house once in a yer or after many years?

we have had some changes made over the years and it is always disruptive especially if it involves work on electrics, the kitchen or the bathroom

@amnabas especially when they get things wrong and you have to wait for them to return and fix it all as happens to us

Our house do not need to be renovated once in a year. We do the normal annual maintenance, that means, check the furnace and other minor things like this.

@amnabas Well, it's her money and if she wants to have her house repainted, I believe she has the right to do this.

We managed to change the flooring of our entire house while residing but we have the ground and first floor so we could shift. If you do not have such facility it could be quite a load on you people. Here some take a place on rent until the renovations are completed.

So far, we've only renovated rental houses . I imagine it would be very inconvenient to renovate while you are living in the house..

I'm not sure I understand the problem. What do you mean by a 'residing house'?

@amnabas I understand. Living in it whilst the work is done. That's never easy.
