A Long Overdue Haircut

I'm finally going to get my haircut this afternoon. It's long overdue and I'm almost embarrassed to go since my hair looks horrible.
I don't know why I wait so long between appointments and I always say I won't wait so long the next time. So, here we are...not only didn't I go sooner but now it's even later than my usual tardiness.
Some people love going to the salon and being pampered but I never found it a fun experience. Maybe I just don't like sitting still for so long and I hate when the beautician is constantly engaging me in conversation.
Anyway, in a few short hours my ordeal will be over.
Do you enjoy those salon visits?

No, I don't like those visits I mostly trim my own hair.

I could say I am like you.. My hairstylist is a very good friend.. since she owns the salon and spa she is always busy .. I hate going to the other younger people.. I hate the fact that they need to make a conversation ., I just love to sit still and relax. I only go when my friend can take me in.

@Marilynda1225 My friend used to do that sometimes..I mean come home to do my hair.. but now with the spa and salon she is way too busy.

It took me awhile to find someone I liked to cut my hair so I always make my appointment when she can take me. I certainly understand how you will wait for your friend to be available to do your hair. I wish I knew someone who would come to the house.

I hate going, but don't mind it quite as much since I have so little of it left it doesn't take long to cut. I go one a month.

Yes, but only if the haircut is good when I get up. A simple thing I do before I pay is to make my next appointment. This way, I don't go too long between trips.

I'd like to make my appointments ahead of time but I'm not always able to plan that far in advance

@Marilynda1225 Okay, some people will think I am nuts, but I have a system that makes my life easier (remember, I live alone and am retired). Each Tuesday is for socializing. I do not make appointments this day. Wednesday is for movies. I like Fridays for appointments. The other days are open. I do what the mood brings up.

I too am not fond of the salon. I dread going, but I also need a haircut. My hair is kept short, but it's longer than the usual I have it.

I told the hair dresser a little over the ears and make it short. She did me one better. She gave me a 100 percent complete buzz cut. I looked like I just enlisted into the military. It snowed white fuzzy hair all over my smock. My wife loved the look but I was no longer a cool rock star from the 60's. lol.

I found the only way for me to keep my hair looking half reasonable was to make an appointment for the next haircut as I left from the last one. Having said that, I haven't had a haircut for six months. I thought while we were away would be a good opportunity to let my fringe grow back and try a longer hair style. But I'll need the ends trimmed soon.

No I get so bored getting my hair cut I probably only go once a year. My hair long so it doesn't really matter too much. I know some people who go every month it must cost them a fortune x
