Starwars is an icon of the 70's and the 80's.on th 17th of December the new Starwars movie will be released. What do you think, will the new Star Wars film be as good as the old ones or will it be a movie that had to many facelifts.

@Marcyaz I guess it wont be easy to make such a movie with such a history. A lot of expectations.

@peterstreep Probably not easy at all since there have been a number of the Star Wars movies already. Yes definitely a lot of expectations.

@peterstreep yup. Obviously, Chewie and Han Solo are back. I haven't seen much trailer of the movie, but I wonder if Luke and Leia will be in it (and who will play their roles). I'd love to see the Rogue squadron too..

@peterstreep Actually, for sequels of movies like this, the less they reveal, the more excitement it builds for the fans. I remember that one installment of the movie Aliens revealed nothing about the movie but the title. and a very few cut scenes. No dialogue.

I heard about it today and from what they say it will be different so I won't see it at the theater but will wait for it to come out on video.

@peterstreep It does sound like it will be a little different but still within the star wars movie line.

@Marcyaz I hope so, and hope as well that it's not a movie purely made to sell games, toys and what all not.

Yes the rumours are becoming stronger, it's probably The Christmas film of the year. I probably wait till it's out on DVD too.

@peterstreep It's not even just that. I have never been a fan of Star Wars or Star Treck for that matter. Not too big on Sci-Fi really lol. It's all good though. As long as he's happy that's what counts.

Great to hear from you Danielle, Same as my wife, she doesn't care one yota as well. She's more into social movies, not the action ones.

I am not excited about it, I love the others, no idea why this one doesn't even interest me

@peterstreep could be, and could be that I've read many of the books. The only ones I thought were good enough and the story undark enough with a good ending was the Hans Solo trilo

Maybe you can only make sequals and prequals to a certain extend ..

@Jessicalynnt I don't know yet what to make of it. I'm a great scifi lover, especially books but I had always doubts about Star Wars. Some films where really good and some where terrible. A film with only shooting and special effects is not good enough for me. We'll see, I probably go watch it when the hype is over.

I started to watch Star Wars when I was a child. And even I didn't find this movie is outdated although it was filmed so long time ago. I look forward to watching the new Star Wars movie. Science fiction movie is always my favorite. And Star Wars is one of the legends.

I love science fiction too, I'm only afraid the movie becomes to much a good vs evil film, besides effects and action I would like interesting dialogs and beautiful camera work too. I hope it will keep up the expectations.

world news ;-) In a way you're right, there are more important things to worry about, But it's gone be a hype world wide for sure with all the merchandising and commercials.

I was a big fan of the original Star Wars movie. It came out the summer I turned 16. The second trilogy was okay but got tedious at some points and felt too contrived. I have high hopes for this new movie and do plan to go see it.

Yes, I hope the movie will be a real film and not just an extension of the video game market. like many movies are nowadays.

I saw the first Star Wars movies in a theater when it first came out. I enjoyed that one immensely, but haven't bothered with the others since then. I'm not sure why, but I just haven't been motivated to see them.

I've got the same thing, although I watch the later movies on DVDs. But still I've the feeling that Star Wars was a thing of the time back then, and now we are 30 years further. Still I'm curious if the new film is up to it, but I won't go to the cinema for it.

I am one of those very few people who have never watched a single Star Wars movie. It's such a huge pop culture icon that I'm almost ashamed to admit it. I've tried several times to begin watching it but I've never really gotten around to doing it. Maybe someday. As of now, I am more excited about what my dog is sniffing for under the rug than I am about the next Star Wars movie.
