Jonathon Pollard is the guy who spent 30 years in a US prison. His crime was spying for Israel. He gave classified US documents to Israel in the 1980s. I have read differing opinions on this. Some say he was given way too long of a sentence and Israel for years has been seeking his pardon but every US President has refused. He is Jewish and has a wife living over in Israel. He got released today and you would think the US would let him return to Israel but they are saying he can not return to Israel for five years because he is a US citizen. There are officials who think this is wrong. They say "what harm can it do for him to immigrate to Israel after serving his 30 year sentence"? I personally agree. Why punish him more by making him wait 5 more years before he can move to Israel? His wife hopefully will be able to come to America to spend time with him. Hopefully he lives long enough to immigrate to Israel.
