Turning Down An Offer Of Visiting Singapore and Here Is Why?

Every Chinese company that I work for is the same. It is called The chinese way of management.
Last month was my full first year working for them, and I suggest new changes and increase salary for every staff yearly. They rejected. And Today, coming up to the company, I hear the CEO said:
We gonna have a trip for those who work a year here, yeah of course including me!.
I directly say No! and Here is Why?
if the boss increase the salary he will spend more money rather than a trip
He said that: we wouldnt increase salary in 2 year!, damn it
Why the trip makes him richer
If he pays for the trip for 3 people that can help stabilize the 20 others then this is the trick!!!
The ticket fee will be: 3x600 (less than this)= 1800$ and for the hotel fee I guess it's only 500-600 for 3 in 3 days.
So in total : he will spend 1800+600= 2400$
But if he chooses to increase salary for everyone
25*50$/month, guess how much?
So travelling to meeting or conference is just a cover of how they steal more time, get more money, and make staffs more happy?
I bet its not me!
Are you guys working, do you guys love business trip like this?

Ha ha if boss around then so what we can enjoy , I enjoy a lot while go once because I can do there anything I want and little free.

same situation with me in 2013 where they first arrange trip for all employee so at that time we all think why company send there for trip and its big trip for 5 days 5 star hotel in my country at GOA ,but we think that company should done more profit so they will do this but me think different and its that may be company not give increment after 4 months,my friends says no you think wrong and i said its ok lets see.and in 2014 march company give increment only half instead of double and this year of 2015 not given.so its means they done trip to keep us happy by spending less money behind us and take big profit of not giving increment,but company think that we are fool and they do whatever we not understand but my mind work little sharp so i already judge them before 3 years.they do big save of money and saw us that we are done something for employee.

@anh101 yes they feel that if we make trip then all employee happy and its not costly against increment so do it and at increment they say company in loss and we have no money extra to increment but we are not removing anyone so its good for us like this they say.and also say that we took them to trip in worst condition.after all this they handle situation and get their increment.they are selfish and we have to fight against them and i done in last month.

@birjudanak Yeap. All other staffs are laughing at me, I mean, why people are so eager about travelling to Singapore? Cuz we are poor, the poor love to see the city while the rich feeling want the countryside air. ridiculous. Human never be satisfied

exactly like what you say @birjudanak He makes this plan just for cheating and like he is doing a favor for everyone by giving out a trip. But i really love to look deeply into things and trying not to be cheated every time. Those who doesn't understand are who never learn to fight

Well.. there are chinese companies out there that fails to pay their staff proper wages..
Not all companies are like this, some do have merit increases, just make sure you find one that does.
BTW, by the look of things, you won't be getting a merit increase. So you might as well take the trip no? Or you just don't get anything?

i am about to leave the company, actually i don't like the way they treat staffs. You can see that, after those people back from the trip they will stop complaining about salary and that make his succeed in this invitation. I always what's in it for to do something therefore. I just ignore and go.
Where are you from @Drosophila, and do you work at corporate job?

@anh101 I am from England, yes I used to work in a corporate job. :)
You won't always get what you want in the corporate world, that's unfortunately the way things are. Sure you can take a stand, have a fight so on. Sometimes its about picking your fights and take what you can 'n' move on.

@Drosophila what do you think of a 25 years old living corporate world and choosing to hassle with online earning, teaching little children and gardening. Sounds like I am getting older? But I've always learning new things online. No matter what I stay in a corporate world or not, I still learn from internet. i dont love parties in corporate world, like small or big. Going out for dinner with boss is something i never want cuz like we are waiting for getting food. I hate that feeling. I love morning waking up with a new thinking of getting me better, not about how to pass the congestion to be on time. Should I? You are much experienced on this more than me, can you give a suggestion?

I about to leave corporate forever, im 25 but I can't stay in office you know. i can be doing a year and then i see the truth then i cant stand it then quit. just wanna be cool. may be earning online, hard but suitable for me. just practice to be patient and living in decent. I don't have car, a very old motorcycle which my family drive for 10 years then give it to me, i drive for 4 years now I will give them back the motorbike, and I will walk, will have a laptop and one small table, a cup of coffee every day. I don't eat pork, only beef sometimes, and vegetable in the little garden. I don't feel like eating in restaurant in VN becuz I dont find the taste I want to find. I like travelling, i used to drive motorcycle up to the mountains in this city outskirt. I love reading but not in a book store in VN (not many English books) Everything needs to be simple with me. Am I so old in thinkiing? @MALUSE
