Are we heading towards another religious war

Iam starting to fear that the world is heading for yet another war of religions. Everyday I see post about Christians should do this and Muslims should do that, it has tk stop before we destroy our planet. Just look at the history of both faiths, they are fundamentaly the same belief as is the Jewish faith. As a Christian friend of mine says it should be substance over form, lets adopt the belief of love and peace and forget about how it is written.
It's time for the world to come together as ONE before it's to late.

Although Christians and Jews share equally in the blame when it comes to waging war, I think the one difference we have to take into account is that Christians and Jews aren't hellbent on killing anyone who doesn't convert to their religion. Although not all Muslims subscribe to this belief, a lot of the fighting that is done in the name of "religion" right now is the result of extremists who basically want to kill anyone who is not of the Muslim faith. Kind of hard for us all to live in peace when people of that mindset are out there in the world.

@mrtoffee Okay, Paul, you got me there! Yes, indeed, I guess every religion has their nut cases whose sole mission in life is to cover the entire planet to their way of thinking. Unfortunately, with so many religions in the world, and so many religious zealots, that I don't think we'll ever lay down our arms and stand side by side with each other. A lofty and righteous goal, but one that I don't think will ever be achieved. But it is nice to dream about it though!

@moffittjc sadly I think you are right, there will always be individuals fighting to be top dog, it really is a very sad situation isn't it.

We are fighting in the name of a thing, which should be someone's personal choice. No terrorist could be termed as Christan, Muslim or blah blah... Some people are only using the religions to justify their evil intentions, and rest of people of the same faith are getting the burns.
