Scammers every where

Back in the olden days it was over the phone, pretending to be an organization or something to that act. Then it was email, the prince of so and so wants to give you money in exchange for your bank account #. I even had people knocking on my door to help pay for their "cousins" funeral. And finally FB, where they flirt with you and then tell you they need money; my husband got a message saying he won something but has to pay for shipping. People...... Have you ever been scammed or had someone try and hit you up for money? Let's talk about it....

Generally it's the telemarketers that annoy me. I had Allstate (or they said they were Allstate) keep calling me and I told them to put me on their do not call list. The very next day someone called from them and I crossly told them I should be on the list. They said it could be a month before that's effective, and I got angry and meant to tell them if they didn't comply I'd report them to the FTC, but accidentally said FBI (it popped in my head first). Well, they never did call again... I guess that was enough for them to back off in a hurry. I won't use that though, since that's an area of the government I don't want to mess with even in passing statements.

Another thing you can do is tell them to put it in the call notes that the next time they call they will have an ultra-loud air horn blasted into their ear. Then tell them they can feel free to call back.

@Rohvannyn The would probably mess up my phone. I'm okay with leaving that to others. I would hate to do it to someone I know accidentally.

I get those emails in my spam box wanting money for something or other. Then I was on a site similar to this and one lady I was corresponding with asked me to loan her some money, I told her no because I did not let my money sit in paypal. I never heard from her again. What a friend, right?

I haven't had anyone knocking at my door. Except fast-talking teens trying to sell me magazine subscriptions I don't want.

When I was in college, and a real lifenoob, I had a couple of grifters come up and convince me that they were out of gas and stranded, and if I lent them some money they'd mail it back to me. So I gave them $20. They were really convincing until they asked if I could go to the ATM and give them more after I gave them the first $20. Those aren't the actions of people who are genuinely in need! I figure it was worth it, I never fell for that again.

Scammers to me are really bad people that try to make money off of other people. They are not good at all.

Nigerian princes and princesses want to move illegally obtained millions of dollars out of the country and park them in my bank account. I'd get a share for my help if I could just send them the numbers of my bank account . . .
