Giving up on a dream

When do you decide that enough is enough and you keep getting roadblocks? I got turned down for a job today and it seems like I'm reaching a dead end. Do I keep applying or just look elsewhere? Because I have my degree it is expected that I apply but it does get frustrating.

I spent years looking for a job in my field. Eventually I gave up because it was no longer interesting by that point. I deleted all the job notifications and took down my resume from the career sites and packed up. And canceled all the email alerts. It was just sickenening to look at. I have no idea how many applications I filled out year after year. I should tell those companies to pay me for wasting my time!

So did you stick with your present job or did you try something different?

@countryrose I have jobs out of my field, although I'm exploring my secondary course of action with my intelligence. I do not have any jobs in my majors. Aside from the knowledge I got from the courses, they were a waste of time. I tell many people to consider their options carefully based on my experience. This world isn't the one my parents grew up in. Everything is different now.

@OneOfMany I agree. If I would have gotten my degree earlier, it would have been much easier because then you would have gotten trained on the newest technology as it was introduced to your company.

I wouldn't continue applying at the same places. Try several different places, different job titles. Mix it up. Sure it gets frustrating. Anything worthwhile can be.

keep applying to different places and dont give up on your dream, it is always hard to reach a goal , but the happiness which you will experience afterwards is just worth all the hustle
