I'll begin with an admission: the Stone Temple Pilots aren't my type of music. Still, I recognize that their music spoke to the "grunge" generation. Scott Weiland, the lead singer for the Stone Temple Pilots, was found dead on his tour bus on Thursday (12/3). He was preparing to start a tour with his current band, Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts when his body was discovered on the band's bus in Bloomington, Minnesota. According to multiple reports, Weiland had a long issue with drug abuse. No cause of death has been announced as of yet, but many have speculated that Weiland's drug usage had something to do with his death. The Walkabouts' bassist, Thomas Delton Black, was arrested after cocaine was found on the bus in the same room that Weiland's body was discovered. This is the second death in the band in 2015. In March of this year Jeremy Brown, the guitarist for Scott Weiland & the Walkabouts, died of a drug overdose at the age of 34. Scott Weiland was 48.
