I do agree with @sherry, but there is big competition in online market at this time not in running the business but actually to invent a "new big idea " in my opinion its good to make existing startup ideas better, rather than looking for a new invention, if you are not so good with imagination or inventions.

Money to buy domain and the website. and that should get you started for most of the startup. however there is a lot of work to be done. like getting customers and also retaining them. each place has diferent people who can get the startup going.

Like any other startup you need a decent amount of investment for online startup aswell but, there is one big factor that makes online business easy to start i.e. you are in the virtual world of internet, so you can start your online business from your laptop by sitting on the couch in your living room.

You need to buy your domain and you also need someone to host the site unless you can do so yourself.

@rishisim Yes and if there are problems you want one that you can contact right away and they will help right away as some do not do that so you do need to ask others who are the best. No, they are not all the same.

Absolutely @marcyaz, there are number of domain registrars and hosting services like godaddy, one.com, hostgator etc.

I do agree with Sherry @norcal . Actually, online business requires one thing: your brand and how should this be distinguishable on the online environment. People always say, build product don't offer services, however i still see that online start up service also working well. About the domain, hosting, and technical things, i think this can be all done well. By the way, i also love to start up, and love to know how's the feeling, no matter fail or win
