Last week me and my husband were watching a programme about feeding people on our planet. It was a looking at solutions, rather than we are all going to starve kind of thing. Apparently the future is bugs, especially crickets. Easy to farm, and they have loads of protein. You can even grind them up to make flour for cakes and cookies Anyway in that way life throws things at you which you are thinking of, on Sunday night I was offered a barbecue flavoured meal worm by a young lad at work. Apparently they sell them in the metro centre (large shopping centre) under the I'm a celebrity get me out of here brand. You'll be pleased ( or maybe disgusted ) to know I accepted his kind offer, and mr mealworm tasted like really crispy barbecue. It was actually ok, so maybe they are the future. Would you try them?

Probably, I eaten strange things. I also have watched Survivor since the first season and watched the participants gag on strange jungle delicacies. If the guy next to me gagged I would probably gag too.

I would give it a try. Apparently some energy bars are made with cricket flour.

Nope, not me. I'm picky anyway, and bugs and worms would just about turn my stomach.

when I saw them on the tv I thought I'd only ever try them disguised as I'm quite squeamish, but when the young lad offered me one I thought why not?

If it were necessary I'd have a go. I've eaten big fat witchetty grubs at a bush food cafe in West Australia. They served the three worms as an entree poking out of an apple. :)
