Can you make money Buying & Selling Domains

I have heard that Buying & Selling Domains is one way to make money from home and it requires very less investment.
We can buy domains at their registration prices or even cheaper and trade them for profits. I think estimate (money value) for Domain Name can be checked in Domain Auction Sites.
I have not tried this but just want to know whether any one has already tried this and will we be able to make money from this?

don't do it it's a waste of money.
If you want to make real money on the internet invest in a real product or service.
If you've no technical expertise you will not make money on the net.
By making money I mean a liveable wage.

Thankyou Mike for your suggestion, you are right that we can't make livable wage working online, i am just trying to explore any ways to earn small second earning option apart from our regular job by working online in free time
