Time to make the lasagna

Family will be here by seven tonight. A little late for a meal, but we shall have lasagna. A double batch as there are eight of us going to eat. I have not made it in a long while, but tonight's the night. It has been raining for about twenty four hours. Not too bad here for me, I live on top of a hill, things drain away. Still it is time to eat comforting foods.

24 hours of rain is a long time. I love lasagna and sometimes have it when we go out as Vince doesn't like pasta much.

My husband is trying to be gluten free, and so I don't make pasta anymore either. I miss it.

@bagarad I'm sure there is gluten free pasta in our store. Have you looked for it?

@JudyEv @bagarad The only pasta my husband will eat is my homemade lasagna, but I make such a large dish we have to freeze it and we eat it forever.

Living a bit higher, on a hill or just raised land can keep you from a lot of headaches. When it rains here, it doesn't get up around my house, as I also am on a bit of a mound. Of course, in California, living on a hillside does have it's downside with all the mudslides. Guess I got enough 'ides" in there.

This entire town flooded in 1951. The main area of town had water about four feet high. They built a dam to prevent further flooding.

We had rain on the California Central Coast today, too, and in Templeton the house is on a hill. But right now we live in Paso Robles not too far from the dry river. So far it hasn't rained enough this year to put visible water in it.

We need a little rain, it does not rain from the end of October and the temperature is even too warm for the season.

We had freezing rain in November and many people have tree branches down.

@GardenGerty It's a shame when this happens. We still have leaves on the branches, if it snows they will break for sure.

It makes the walking a challenge for sure. I would love to see it in snow, but just for a couple of days.

I hope they got there okay and your lasagna was well received. It's been raining here since before I got up and supposed to rain through tomorrow.

They spent a night in Nebraska and my daughter said if it had snowed instead of raining it would have been three feet.

@GardenGerty Yikes. It looks like we won't be getting any snow around here until sometime after Christmas, and that's ok with me.

May I ask you a favour? If you have any left over, could you please send them to @richnonai as I promised him some years ago but have never made them since then

I wish I'd been at your house. Of course, we had our usual Sunday dinner -- salmon, brown rice, broccoli, and sweet potato. It was good, too.

I would enjoy your meal. Hubby thinks he does not like rice, but he likes it when I make it.

I'm having a hard time using this Mylot format on my iPad. I've lost two responses already. Anyway, I was saying I love lasagna. Wish I could eat with you.

Lasagna is definitely one of my comfort foods, as well. I am glad that my kids love it too.

Yes, it let me have a filling meal ready. Since I put spinach in it it was a one dish meal.

I love the rain as long as it is not harmful to our house. Like you are safe if you live on top of a hill. Also I love lasagna anytime anywhere. I make good lasagna. Will try and make it today now that you have mentioned it.
