What would the planet be like if all modern Technology suddenly stopped working?

In this article I talk about my thoughts on the idea of all modern technology like internet and text messaging to name a couple coming to a complete stop and how the world would benefit or not benefit from that whether or not it would be a good thing. Personally I am not a person that heavily relies on modern technology to get through my everyday life, I mean I admit the internet and text messaging, cars and other kinds of modern technology does come in handy nowadays, it does, but I also think that or rather I’ve often wondered what everyone would do and how the planet would look like if all that stuff just stopped. What if we went back to a time when you walked everywhere all the time? , you hand to send actual letters instead of emails or text messages. Go back to a time before guns and nuclear war machines, I mean I don’t think I’d hear too many arguments about having to use swords or your fists. I recently just heard about a show that used to come on called “revolution” I haven’t watched it yet but I hear it’s about how modern technology stopped working and now fifteen years into the future it’s back to candle light and lanterns though from a trailer I watched there are still sadly guns around. I just think that everyone would get the jolt they needed to realize the damage they have caused to themselves, each other, the world around them and all of the animals that live in it. I actually look forward to that happening, now I know there are probably a lot of debates about this mainly being asteroids and other natual disasters and not having the techonology to survive it or prevent it. Yeah I mean I get that sure, that will suck in that scenario, it really would, which makes the idea of this so bad, but still I mean….Just look at the way the world is turning out frankly it’s sickening to me. It’s not all bad I know but I mean I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who’d side with me on this. We should live like our ancestors for a day just a day, no modern tech, no wars with a painfully large death count, everyone free to be free live their lives happy. Don’t you agree? Just one day a year like that is all we need. Hopefully it would catch on and turn into more than just one day a year but for now I think all it would take is that one day for everyone to see how much better life would be if we just went back to a simpler time, a time of peace and happiness where the things people fight about today don’t matter and all that matters is taking care of ourselves, each other, the animals we live alongside and the planet we live on.

Although I am a lover of technology I totally understand what you mean here. You're right. If everything stopped working we would all be lost. Obviously. But some of us would be able to survive. I remember a time without computers and internet and all the great things we have now. We actually had to use our minds to think and feet to walk. I do believe that is none of this technology existed, we would all have to learn what it means to be a community. How to communicate with words instead of text messages. A one on one experience. And since communities would be smaller as a result, we would actually enjoy our time together. Unlike today. There are areas in this country where no one knows their neighbors anymore.

How true and even young people would have to use their brains to learn how to count and do math instead of using technology.@inertia4

@Marcyaz That is correct. Imagine using their brains? Wow. What a novel idea. LOL. Well, we learned the old way. I can just see the kids today trying to work out math problems with a pencil and paper.

Well thinking back I can remember when there was no television just radio as a child helping my mother with the dusting I would listen to the radio and dance around while dusting. We played a lot of games and went to the movie house once a week and the library once every couple of weeks. My grandparents had some property out of the city and we would all go out there and plant vegetables or if they were ripe we would pick the vegetable and take home to eat. There was no such thing as air conditioning you used a fan or nothing. How things have changed.
