The US Presidential Debates - Comedy or a really bad reality show?

I keep missing both the Republican and Democratic debates. Maybe it is my subconscious protecting me from the spectacle. No matter what though, I catch the "highlights" either on the news or when someone sends them to me. For such a serious time, it seems I have never remembered a primary election like this. When people say "I can't believe..." whether it is a ridiculous comment or just someone calling everyone else "stupid"...I think to myself, yes, this is sadly real...believe it. The world is in a crazy phase, but this somehow does not make me laugh or divert from everything going on. The oddness of the debates makes me worry that when we need real leadership, we may (depending on whether people vote and take this serious) be being led by a clown from a ship of fools.
