I am a proud Filipino here. Hearing the first announcement that my country's representative was just in first runner-up made me sad. Filipinos are competitive not just in skills but also in beauty and intelligence. There's something really inside me that tells me not to accept the decision made. But then, after a few minutes, there is this Steve Harvey denouncing that Miss Colombia is not the winner instead, it's my countrymen (Pia Wurztbach). Woohoo! On the other hand, I feel so sorry for Miss Columbia. She must have been suffering from indescribable bad feelings! Trivia: Pia Wurztbach is an actress in the Philippines. She is not that famous though but with her achievement, she will surely have a place now in the show business :)

I really liked how she said, "I am confidently beautiful with a heart". The heart wins all the time. I did feel sorry for miss Colombia but apparently she's not too gracious with her defeat.

inner beauty, bible, heart, lovely, like
Agree, the heart is more important than the outlook. We have seen many beautiful women from different countries (and sometimes from our own country) who walks on the street in our city. Before they speak, they still look very beautiful. But once they open their month and they sound like thunder or some kinds of animals. That will immediately form two words in your mind : "Oh, No !" or "No, thanks!) So, I absolutely with you that , inner beauty is more important than outside, even for a contest, outside is still important as well.

@wildlittlefan Very well said. I think the miss universe blunder showed women's true colours. Some had disappointing attitudes which didn't match their beautiful faces and some had beautiful hearts that matches their beautiful faces.

@wildlittlefan There are people that is exactly as you described. But unless we never knew them for a long time, we should never jump to conclusion. However, we can make our own first impression and first impression never really lasts most of the time

Yes. She is very beautiful. She's been in the show business for years now but having hard times to get a main role for a show. With her achievement, she is definitely destined to be crowned as Miss Universe (her childhood dream ).

@trivia79 She started acting at 11 but they gave her teenage roles by that age because she can pass as one because she already have a developed body by that age.

I feel very sorry for Miss Colombia. She was standing proudly waving her country's flag, smiling for pictures, crowned to have that taken away in front of her....

@trivia79 I agree. Not only was it embarrassing, but it was on television nationwide for everyone to view! But I'm sure once she overcomes this, she will be a stronger person.

@infatuatedbby I suggest that she should give it another shot to join the same pageant to prove that she deserves it (if she still qualified). But if ever another Filipina contestant got into top 3 again, I will definitely cheer with my countrymen

Guess what? Steve Harvey will be hosting next year! I heard the publicity he gave got him rewarded a multiple year contract. I think he should try to have a vacation in Colombia.

really? is that a joke or a serious matter? By not looking at the mistake he had done, he surely did a great job. But it's his mistake that made a great impact to the audience, contestants and as well as the viewers. I don't understand why they still consider Steve to host for next year's MU pageant

Definitely! He even cried after that on a conference. He has been and still bashing by netizens especially of Miss Colombia supporters and that feels so shameful.

It was indeed strange and Steve Harvey should have been gutted over the gaffe. Though we can say he should have rehearsed well than cut a sorry figure I do not want to judge him - in fact, I never do. It is a lesson for everyone, more of a reminder, to prepare well in whatever we do. Congratulations to the winner, country and everyone - it is never easy to win internationally any event - siva

Yeah. This made me think that what's on his mind was the order of the places. He said first the 2nd runner-up and by number, he should said next the 1st runner-up. But in competitions like this, champion should be the second to mention

I do understand what Miss Colombia reacted hours later. Even I would react that too. In fact, if I were in her place, I will just disappear from this world due to great shame i have got.

I hate it what they did back there, they totally humiliated Ms. Colombia, Perez Hilton said it was either host fault or publicity stunt to the program. To me, it would have been better off if they didn't made that publicity stunt anyways. Im happy that she won every boday thinks she deserved to win and i liked that.

Well, at first sight, it's more of a fault of the host. News has also this kind of perspective. Better change decision seconds or minutes later than let hours or days passed. If the latter part happened, that would create a major trouble!

I think, this is the first happened in the history of Miss Universe. Many controversies and issues regarding the crown have emerged the past years and decades. But this one is totally funny, sad, and happy at the same time
