Merry Christmas, our annual tradition that needs broken.

My Christmas is already off to a bad start. It seems my boyfriend has decided to keep with our yearly tradition of one of us needing to make a trip to the ER on Christmas. This year he has been admitted for appendicitis, it's our first Christmas since we've been together that we're not together on Christmas. I don't know why this stuff always seems to happen to us on Christmas, but it seems to be a trend with us. We've both been to the ER for various reasons on Christmas ever since we've been together and even before. I don't know how people can handle being away from their loved ones on Christmas. My son has never not had us both there on Christmas morning. Usually we are in and out, but not this year, so it's going to be difficult this year. I hope everyone else has a Merry Christmas, and I feel for those of you who can't be with their families this Christmas. At least I have my son, and the rest of my family.

I'm so sorry to hear this one. I know things will work out fine. Last year my BF was not home for Christmas he wsa working in Rapa Nui or what you would call Easter Islands. it was not so much fun but we both managed and he was home by the beginning of February.

That does suck, but at least I can visit my boyfriend in the hospital, so that makes it a little easier, it's just difficult knowing he won't be here when our son opens presents, and I won't make my son wait since he has been looking forward to it all month, and we don't even know how long my boyfriend will be in the hospital.

@poehere I did video tape it, but my boyfriend was able to go with us to my sister's with us, you wouldn't even know he had surgery. He bounced back quick, and he is able to go back to work Monday.

@sissy15 Yes I can understand this one. I hope he has a speedy recovery and won't be there too long. I would video your son opening up his gift so your BF can see him do this one. You can always play it for him later on today.

Oh dear I am so very sorry to read this my friend. I hope your boyfriend will be okay and recover. That is really strange that it keeps happening to you at Christmas time. Blessings to you and Merry Christmas anyway.

Thank you, amazingly he had his appendix removed and was able to leave the same day and still go to Christmas at my sister's. They did it laparascopically (sp?) he's already up and moving around and only in some slight pain. He will go back to work Monday. We're amazed at how well everything went. I'm just happy to have him home. I felt bad for him being by himself for part of Christmas, but was glad that when we went to visit we were informed he'd be able to go home shortly after. We had a pretty decent Christmas after that.

Health is still more important than celebration. There will always be Christmas, so no need to worry about a year or two when you miss out on the celebration. It is not a major problem, though ER is not the preferred place for this festive season.

Well everything worked out, my boyfriend was able to leave the same day after the surgery, and was able to go to my sister's with us for Christmas. He barely has any restrictions, and can return back to work Monday.

You need to put a coma between each word to make it individual. Right now your tag is read as a sentence instead of individual words. I am sorry that your boyfriend is having to go through this and I hope that he will be able to come home before New Years. Merry Christmas To You.

Sorry, I spaced it, and at one time I swore you weren't supposed to add commas. but thank you, I hope so too. I'm not even sure what's going to happen yet, we're still waiting on word from the doctors.

It's better to focus on your health, recover and celebrate later. it doesn't have to be in exact christmas day. besides, you two must have been working straight for days even before the month of december, better take a day off at least.

Well, I'm a stay at home mom currently, health does come first, and amazingly my boyfriend was able to come home the same day and was allowed to go to my sister's with us for the remainder of Christmas, he barely has any restrictions. He goes back to work Monday.
