Does Christmas mean less if you don't have children?

I have seen a few posts on Facebook today that seem to be implying that those of us who have children don't seem to find this time of year as wonderful as those that do have children. While I can understand that a lot of the joy of Christmas involves children and Santa's visits but for those people who are parents to imply that somehow those people who have chosen not to hvae children can't enjoy the holiday season as much has annoyed me slightly. I'm maybe feeling a little put out but seeing things on Facebook from people saying that they hope that other parents have a wonderful Christmas has annoyed me. Anyway, rant over and I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas :o)

I must say that I enjoyed Christmas a lot more when I was a child myself and when our kids were young.

I think kids do bring a lot of fun and joy to Holidays. None in my house this year, so it does feel sort of empty.

It was enjoyingable when my children were young but now it is enjoyabe watching my pets get their gifts and play with them. I don't go on facebook that much any more so I don't know what is being said on there but adults can have fun on Christmas just like anyoe else. Have a Very Merry Christmas

Thank you - hope you're having a lovely Christmas too. I have two cats and a dog - all three are fast asleep after eating too much turkey lol

@euphie This is one of the reasons I do not spend much time on Facebook. For anything there will be differing opinions.Enjoying Christmas depends on the persons. So just ignore them and have a Merry Christmas.

I always feel I'm missing something if I stay off Facebook but I think I need to spend less time on it these days...

Children add a different dimension to Christmas -- and a bit more pressure, too -- but Christmas is Christmas and is a beautiful season for us all. People shouldn't make others feel bad who are in a different situation than they are themselves.

Christmas is what you make it - whether you have children or not.

I always thought that too, but I was just annoyed yesterday when I read some comments on Facebook.
