Waiting for footsteps

I am sure those with younger children get up early on Christmas day. Personally, I am a light sleeper, so sounds wake me that don't make anyone else twitch. Sometime about 3;30, my 4 year old fell out of bed. She was fine, and thankfully she didn't decide to go downstairs. Then I was awake until almost 5:30, waiting to hear footsteps that say 'the kids are up!' Thankfully they stayed in bed until just after 8am. They didn't get to dig into the pile at that point anyways. My husband took our four year old to church before anyone was allowed to start tearing it up. So in a tired voice I say, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or enjoy your Friday(off work I hope!)!

Mery Christmas. I am glad the four year old is okay and decided to stay in bed.

I was up at 8am anyways christmas day as I had wrapping to do before we went to my sister's house. I guess their kids slept in until after 7am so atleast they weren't up super early. We all had a great day and the kids loved everything they got so i'm happy.

I remember Christmas when I had younger children. It was hard to stay awake until they feel asleep and than they would wake up early all excited.

At least they stayed in bed until 8 could have been much worse. My sons are both grown, one still lives with us the other home from college. They usually stay in bed till at least noon given the chance. So we opened presents on Christmas Eve.
