A joke so good, it doesn’t work

Years ago, my family started celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas not on the actual day so my siblings could spend it with their other families, or someone could work on the holiday to let someone else be with their family and to get holiday pay. So we usually have Thanksgiving the Saturday after it, and Christmas on a convenient weekend. And a few years ago, we started having Christmas brunch, where instead of having a big meal of ham, mashed potatoes, etc., we have a big meal of French toast, hash browns, sausage, etc. It’s great, but can be tough on someone like me who usually doesn’t go to bed until 4:00 AM to have to get up to eat at 9:00. So yesterday morning, I’m bleary-eyed and sitting down at the table, and I missed the beginning of something. My young niece, instead of saying “Mwah ha ha,” was saying, “Moo ha ha.” Everyone was laughing, and the first thing I thought of was a kid’s story with an evil cow. And then other stuff happened and I forgot about it. Several hours later, I remembered this evil cow idea, and I came up with the perfect name: Bullfeld, at take on the James Bond villain of Blofeld. I started writing up a post about how sometimes the humor wheels don’t turn as fast as we wished. But as I thought about it, I realized there was an issue with Bullfeld. Kids who would likely be interested in stories about villainous cows, might stumble over the name Bullfeld, which isn’t a good idea. I guess when I think about talking barnyard animals, I think either young kids storybook, or something like a cartoon which can be silly in other ways to appeal to an older audience. But fear not. I might have a way to still write a story about Bullfeld.
