Some of you may be wondering why I have been around. You will never guess what happen! Someone hit the pole right outside my house and we didn't have power. It's a good thing it has not been that cold. All thing considered they got the power back on quickly or at least I think so because there was some damage to the pole. I hope you all had a better day than we did.

Where I live utilities are mostly underground. People may hit fire hydrants, but not power poles.

@whiteream When I was in Key West, I was horrified at how ugly it was, with dozens of different lines and wires overhead on every street. Such a pity.

I am glad you have power again! I hate being without power now that I'm an adult-when I was a kid I loved it. Lol.

Oh my! I am glad that the power is back now. All the utilities have been moved underground here.

@whiteream It is safer, but in some rural area they are still on poles.

@whiteream I hate it when the power goes off because I cannot get Internet and of course other problems when night falls. We once had to go several days by candlelight. Glad you got your power back quickly.

Yes, it is very hard to do any work with no power. At least it didn't get cold.

No power would certainly ruin my day. I'm glad we did not have that problem. Did you have it back already?

You can't blame mother nature on that one I guess. We've been fairly lucky here if the power goes out we're just a few miles from the power compnay's many facility so they get us back up quickly.

It's a good thing that the temps weren't too cold and it sounds like they were quick to get it taken care of.

Someone hit our power pole once. We had no power for 3 days. It was summer so we were worried about our food in the freezer and fridge. We went and bought a generator.
