Random Word Post – habitué

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “A habitual visitor or frequenter of a place, such as a restaurant.” From the French habituer, accustom. On one hand, I’m all for expanding one’s vocabulary, but on the other hand I’m a common man. Why use big, fancy words when simpler ones will do? The number of people who would understand the sentence, “Joe was a habitué at the café,” is probably the same number as those who wouldn’t understand the sentence, “Joe was a regular at the café.”

I also like to expand my vocabulary. Its the only way i am best able to express myself. This is the first time i heard of this word "habitue". I wonder how it is pronounced?

I'm not entirely sure, and I'm not sure how to type the upside down e and the letters with bars over them from the pronunciation guide from my dictionary.
