Harsher punishment for traffic offenders

Yes, I believe this is appropriate these days. Due to the increasing number of accidents and mishaps happening on the road, mostly because of driver disobedience, I think our government should impose stricter rules and harsher punishments to traffic offenders. May it be beating the red light, overspeeding, counterflowing, or even jaywalking, offenders should face more than just community work or paying a small fee. Also, enforcers should be more vigilant in catching these offenders. What do you guys think?

I agree! If Mayor Duterte became the President of the Philippines, he will do more than this! Some people may suffer but most people will surely benefit.

@xtedax Presidential candidates this 2016 were exciting. We have notorious and famous Miriam Defensor-Santiago running for president too. I am choosing one of them.

@trivia79 I might actually consider her for this upcoming 2016 elections. She may be unorthodox, but she certainly is no push-over nor a wuss.

I do not have a candidate in mind yet. Although I sure hope Mayor Duterte, if he becomes President, lives up to his words. We badly need discipline in our country.

Rules are just rules if the citizen do not know how to respect the law. Our understanding and attitude, respect towards others must change first.

Exactly! And what better way to do this than to have our enforcers do their job. Here in Manila, enforcers are just there in the streets and just wave at you like greeters inside a grocery store. I guess corruption is way too deep here and that it's gonna need a major overhaul to fix our broken traffic system.

@xtedax Corruption starts within us. If we violate a traffic rule, just give the license and do not let the officers persuaded to be corrupted.

@wiLLmaH Exactly! Although we are just humans and are capable of so many mistakes, we must still strive to at least be disciplines in the streets.

There should be punishment for such offenders.
