A Time For Reflection!

It's that time of year, with the hustle and bustle of Christmas behind us, and the New Year ahead of us, a time for reflection, dreams and goals. The years' gone by, are now just unchangeable memories, the years ahead will be what you make them. So if you continue on through Life, as you are, without reflection or change, you will simply add another year, to your unchangeable collection, of years gone by or lost. Life is all about learning lessons, which if ignored, will keep recurring, until you get the message, planted within your psyche. There is a super acknowledgement to this, written by Cherie Carter-Scott... Ten rules for Being Human "You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, Life. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The failed Experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately work. Lessons are repeated until they are learned, and will be presented to you in various forms until you have learnt them. Only then can you go to the next lesson. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain it’s lessons... If you are alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned. There is no better a place than here. When your there has become a here, you will simply obtain another there that will again look better than here. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours. The answers to life’s questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust."

I always like to reflect on the past and plan for the new year around this time. I believe I started this habit since primary school, we were asked to plan for the new year during the school starts. I like the saying "there's no mistakes, only lessons". We are here to learn, and keep learning. It'a always good to stop, think or listen to ourselves, then move forward and keep learning. Thanks for sharing these rules of being human.

@kaka135 Learning and accepting is a hard thing for the Human mind, when the Higher Mind gets in the way...

@bookbar I read that we have the ego who always stops me from moving further or learning. Perhaps we need to learn to tame our ego.

@kaka135 Ego is one powerful character,if we could tame him/her, we might have the secret to a life of fulfillment and abundance in all aspects....

@TiarasOceanView Fortunately I live a lot further south of where Frank is due to hit, but those poor souls up North are waiting and worrying as the rivers dump their excess water from the hills above... so we are just getting the tail end of the wind, thanks for your concern....

@bookbar Glad to know you are not in the eye of it. The pics and vids I have been seeing are apocalyptic.

Sounds like you have it pretty much figured out. Listening is important. Watching what the dummies do and not doing it. Trusting too much isn't good but finding that happy medium you can work with is smart.

@celticeagle Finding and accepting that 'happy medium' can take a lifetime though!

No superior being then? The religious members won't agree.

@MALUSE Religious communities would never agree with anything that causes them to question their beliefs... anyway we are all 'Superior Beings' we have simply, often by Social conditioning, forgotten how to use the power that lies within our psyche~~

Great post with very true statements. Pity we take so long to learn some of those lessons :)

@JudyEv ... Isn't that the Human animal, other species learn a lot quicker when the Higher Mind doesn't get in the way of acceptance.

@bookbar I do believe that Cherie Carter-Scott has the right idea. I do believe that we learn something new everyday, that we will make the same mistakes over and over if we don't pay attention, we need to listen what the world and nature is telling us.

Wonder how many of us do, most people seem to have little time for reflection theses days, maybe it's something we need to do a little more of in this crazy world....

I like to think of the year that just passed and than think of what will happen in the year to come.
