where did the day go?

December 29, 2015 6:07pm CST
However much I adore Christmas, I do find it exhausting. Today was therefore a day for doing nothing. I stayed in my jim-jams. I failed to qualify for survey after survey on survey sites. I posted festive photos on the Book of Face. I showered. I did two loads of washing. I was mellow. I even organised my Dropbox folders, deleting stuff I don't need and finding a more relevant home for those documents and files that are slipped in most haphazardly. Of course, it helped that I had the perfect start to the day. Husband woke me up at about ten o'clock with tea and one of his homemade cookies, which I devoured messily in bed. {Reasons to love being a cat owner, number 372: cats are nearly as good as dogs at clearing up after their messy staff.} Despite - or perhaps, because of - the relaxed atmosphere I am left with the curiosity of where the day has gone. It was here, and then it became dark and the day had scampered off to pastures new, leaving me fumbling for the light switch and wishing my life would just have the inclination to meander along, rather than crazily speed along as if my inevitable death is something I must win, lest some other poor soul steals the gold medal. And tomorrow? Much of the same. However, I will endeavour to throw some clothing on and partake of a generously brisk walk to the chemists, the bakers and the Post Office. Fun times.

the bumpy landing after the giddy flight of Christmas can be awkward for us - we should have something to look forward to - for me it is tomorrow's new year celebrations

@Poppylicious I remember one year we all ran out knocking on neighbours doors to wish everyone happy new year and we ended up knocking up one young couple who had gone to bed - they suddenly had thirty party people on the doorstep - really embarrassing

I'm not a fan of new year. It's the one night I would like to be asleep by midnight. :)

My husband and I had to exchange a gift I had gotten him. I just got the wrong one. I couldn't believe there were still lines at customer service. I was certain most people were done with that, I was wrong. Thankfully they had lots of people working that counter and we were in and out pretty quick. Other than that I have done nothing all day.

I've been thoroughly lazy today too, though I did get dressed and go out for lunch with my son.

Sounds like for a "doing nothing" day, you did a lot! I hope you've recovered.

Haha! I'm having another lazy day to aid my recovery of yesterday's laziness!
