Let's hold up the line....

I have to admit, I have held up the line a few times but not because I wasn't prepared with my coupons but the cashier was inexperience and still new in training. Before even using coupons, I inform the cashier I will be using some coupons so they are alert. The cashier didn't remember the items I purchased and basically had to take everything back out to verify if the items purchased were corresponding with the coupons. And, I am no where near extreme couponing! I generally just use coupons that I need/find from the mailer that is sent home or catalina coupons that come out from Target/Vons machines. Anyway, (Story Time) This evening I went to Target for quick essentials (cleaning supplies, hand wipes, etc) and there were only 3 available lines/cashiers and a self service line. Since I was buying food afterwards at Pizza Hut (located in Target) - I decided to stand in the line closest to Pizza Hut. Worst decision ever!!! Why? The lady ahead was literally holding up the line on purpose. Not only was she having a full on conversation with the cashier but when it came time to pay, she had the nerve to ask the cashier if there were any promotional deals for the items she purchased, or available coupons on Target's ad or through Target's Cartwheel app. Seriously lady? The cashier told the lady, she may have some qualifying items so the lady took out her phone and searched for the items she purchased to see if there were any coupons that "may" qualify. At this point, the couple behind me were peeking at other lines to decide whether to stay in this line or move. I wanted to change lanes but I didn't want to end up going to a different line and have this line finish first so I stayed. End result: The couple that changed lanes, ended up beating me!! Afterwards lady tried several attempts to find eligible coupons, none applied. Great, time to pay right? No, her card's passcode declined as she received a new one and did not know the properly passcode. Plus with the new chip credit card - it takes even longer as you have to wait for the light before taking your card out. By this time I am standing in line for over 15 minutes (timed because my boyfriend was outside waiting for me and I was texting him) and she finally paid but did not leave yet. Since she had to charge her total on a card other than her Target card, she asked the cashier if she came back with the card will she get her 5% off reimbursement. Really lady! If you hold up the line, at least be prepared! I have patience but not any if you are purposely holding up the line. Cashier did not even bother to apologize for the wait. Thanks for reading my vent of the evening!

Some people seem to enjoy holding up the line.

Yes, when they know people are waiting. Just like how some know you are waiting for them to pull out of a parking spot, they seem to take even longer to pull out!

I know I'm doomed at the gas station when someone in front of me (I'm standing there with my Gatorade) starts buying lottery tickets and redeeming old ones and buying more.
