Role Models

January 3, 2016 1:52pm CST
After a post I responded to earlier it got me thinking about the role models I have had through my life, what impact they have had and what attributes they had compared to some of today's "role models" My role models had the same qualities in one form or another, they were independent, unrelenting in their drive and focus and were always willing to drop everything no matter how busy they were if someone needed their help. My main role model was my History teacher from high school, she taught me a lot and I am not sure where I would be in life if it was not for her taking the time to make sure that I stayed on the straight and narrow. Who was or still is you role model, what makes them your role model?

Normally they are the teachers who mold us and leave an impression on us. I have also had few bosses/colleagues, more of the never-say-die types, that inspire us. Of course, our parents leave a lasting impression too - siva

I can't think of anyone in particular. I know they would have been strong people who gave of themselves. I also had an unusual influence. It was a man who made me want to be everything I could. I have to thank you for asking that question because I never even thought of that.

You're welcome, someone made me think of mine earlier so I thought I would share. Perfect for the time of the year

@Violetx Yes it is. I am also glad to have thought about that guy in that way. He means a lot to me and I didn't realize how much.

No real role models for me or at least I can't think of anyone.

I think. like you, Violet, I had a PE teacher who years ago, took me out of a terrible situation and not only helped me, but opened my life to some of the best learning experiences I have had in my life. So I would say she was one of my most admired role model. Thank you Ms Hayes.
