My thoughts on VanillaISIS

In case you didn't know, some armed, anti-government guys have taken over a building at a wildlife refuge in Oregon. There are all sorts of posts online about what led to this and what they hope to accomplish, but I haven't paid much attention to it. Because I know that in situations like this, the "facts" often depend on your source. Also, it's possible that this group has a stated purpose for their actions that they give to the media trying to make themselves seem noble, while their true, less-noble purpose remain only for those who need to know. Given all of that, my thoughts about this group - dubbed VanillaISIS on Twitter - is that they are a bunch of morons. If you're trying to get the populace on your side, being armed thugs storming a building is not a good message to be sending. But if you're trying for an armed uprising against the government, why take over a wildlife refuge? Which leads me to think that they don't really have a plan, they're just throwing a tantrum to get their fifteen minutes. Maybe this is just a poorly executed flash mob?

Have they said anything about their "agenda"?

I've seen some things online, but there's no way to know how accurate they are.

@oneoveralpha As you say, any news source will have their own spin.
