Think My Daughter May Be Upset Tomorrow

Right now it's just gone 10.20am and my daughter is still fast asleep in bed. That is despite us having got her to go to bed a bit earlier than she'd got into the habit of. Then again, I'm not sure she actually went to sleep when we put her to bed. Most likely she sat up for a while reading. But tomorrow, it will be all different. Tomorrow, school starts back. I can just hear the moans now, as I will no doubt have to waken her in the morning. It's not that she doesn't like school. I know she will enjoy being back amongst more of her friends. Having to get up earlier though, well that's another matter...

I remember that feeling of having fun and sleeping in through break. Then when its time to go to school the next day, I would be lazy and complain ~ just one more day off please however my mom would never allow it. Hehe.

@Darroch Lol, I used to complain but in the middle of complaining I would get ready anyway because I didn't want to be late also. Being late and walking in class late equals all eyes on you! And, I am very far from wanting to be center of attention because I was late.

Suppose at least my daughter has never tried to get another day off (just lots of moaning at having to get up earlier). Suppose she would know that I wouldn't let her anyway. lol. And despite her moans and complaints she does drag herself out of bed. She would really hate to be late and have to go in the front the door and sign the late book.

Yeah, back into her usual habit of sleeping in (and needing wakened) on school days and then wakening up a bit earlier at the weekends. lol.

I also hated waking up early for school. But, I hope your daughter will be happy to see her friends again and that will make up for it.

Oh, she will be happy to be back. It really is just the having to get up earlier than she'd like that she wont be happy about.

Last night we had guests that didn't leave until about 10 PM as a result my three year old grand daughter did go to bed until 10. She was up at 6 AM this morning. I think it will be a nap day.

Amazes me how little sleep some kids can get by on (my daughter included, though she's quite a bit older now than your granddaughter). Suppose I should be grateful that my daughter never was a very early riser.

I completely get her, I went through the same exhaustion and annoyance the first day in college after Christmas vacations. She'll enjoy though, no doubt about that

Yes, I'm quite sure she will enjoy being back. It really is just the getting up earlier that she moans about.

I think all children who are going back to school after the long holiday season will have the same feeling.

Definitely. Think she was making the most of the long lies. She finally surfaced around 11.45am.
