Neighbors....My Rant.

I live in a duplex with very thin walls. Well thin walls only if you are loud. I have lived next door to two younger girls for about 6 months now and let me tell you they are very loud. But not in the traditional loud music type loud. They pound. I have no clue on what. But I suspected for a long time that they are fighting. I have them on Facebook so a couple nights ago I messaged one of them because I had had enough. I was very polite and asked if they could keep it down and explained what I was hearing. She messaged me back saying that they had kids over and that she apologizes. Well I am thinking later that night that it is going on midnight and they are still pounding. That is awfully late for kids to be up, but that is none of my business. I was out at my car this evening and I ran into the other one and she was very apologetic about the situation telling me that they have been fighting a lot lately and its not a common thing for them. I appreciated her talking to me about it, but I know it's not going to fix the problem. See, the thing is is they know if I complain about them even once to the landlord then they will be kicked out. Now I don't want to go that far. That's why I am trying to handle it on my own. But enough is enough. And I am typically a very patient person but when I can hear it in my bedroom on the other side of the house, then that's enough for me. That's my rant for the evening. I feel like its been awhile since I have been on a rant. Do you have annoying neighbors? Or is your neighborhood pretty peaceful?

Sorry to hear, it's peaceful here which is nice :) I hope it all sorts out, either they move or something so it's better for you.

I can't believe these girls are fighting. Do you mean physically pummeling each other? It's strange how the other half lives sometimes. :) Hope they sort it out without you having to go to the landlord.

I think they are just verbally fighting any maybe throwing things and stomping around. I am not sure honestly. I really hope that they are not hitting each other. I will then get the law involved if I witness that, who cares about the landlord....I don't like seeing people hurting each other like that

I am lucky our neighbors are peaceful. Annoying and disturbing neighbors surely make us annoyed and restless.

We moved away from our annoying neighbours. They were loud and had a VERY limited vocabulary. Every thing was the same brand and had the same characteristics. I could hardly believe how many ways that one word could be used.

oh wow I wouldn't put up with that. Luckily my landlord is on my side and he would make them move. He has offered me moving to other places but they are all upstairs and my dog can't walk upstairs anymore with her bad hind legs. Besides, I like it here and really don't want to have to move all my stuff again.

I have annoying neighbors but we are in houses not a duplex so it makes it not as bad as your situation. I just wish my neighbors would move.

Urgh, I would love if my neighbors would move. My cousin wants to move in over there so bad and that would be perfect. But I know that won't happen

I'm glad i live in a house and not rent so i don't have to deal with that. I feel for you though as my sister goes thru the same thing in her place she's in. I hope they listen and stop arguing or atleast late at night so you can get your rest

I lived in a demi-detached house in the past and the neighbours were really noisy. They were drinking, yelling at eachother and playing really loud music. The walls between the two houses were really thin, and the noise bothered us a lot. We talked to them several times, but it didn't change the situation. Our current home is much more peaceful.

That's awesome that you have a more peaceful house. I some day will have peaceful neighbors. Or I will be able to move into a house of my own

My neighbors are fine. Hardly hear a peep but that's probably because they're not right next to us like in a duplex. I think you gave them a lot of warnings, but hopefully they will tone it down and not cause you anymore problems!

That is awful! I live pretty far from my neighbors right now so there are no issues. But I would hate to hear pounding, especially late at night-that's just rude!

I have had annoying neighbors. We lived in one place where the guy did not get up well with his alarm. So on Saturday morning when we really wanted to sleep in, his alarm would go off for hours. We would end up just getting up when we would get tired of hearing it. We had another place they the husband & wife would have scream sessions nearly every night. We live in the country now, the coyotes are the loudest thing around and I love it. Hang in there, I hope it gets better

My neighbors before these were loud too. My landlord is on my side with all this. I really wish I could move out in the country. That is my ideal life right there.

Hope you can solve this soon. Yes, I have annoying neighbor. She always come my house and doesn't go to her home for long time. I can't do my work, because she is here and I must treat her. Sometimes I shut my door for whole day.She is a big trouble for me.

oooohhh, those kind of people. Yes, I have had those type of neighbors too in the past. I had no idea what to do then either. Never did fix that. I just moved later down the road

I am in an apartment building, but the only noise that bothers me is from the people upstairs. They seem to have very heavy feet, and stay up until late every night, so it is hard for me to get to sleep sometimes.

That could really suck too. I remember when I lived in an upstairs apartment once, I was so scared I was making too much noise for the people below me. I would walk as quiet as I could

Its good to rant once in a while and just let it all out. I also lived in apartments for a few years and had to deal with noisy neighbours. Its not nice. They putting you in a very awkward position. Where I live its peaceful.

Yes they do. I am not one for confrontation. And I really don't want to call the landlord and be the reason they get kicked out. But I really don't want to deal with the noise. Its hard

I own my house, in the middle of four lots, across from an empty field, with an abandoned house next door and a large house beyond a tree line on the other side. The only thing I hear is the truck traffic headed for the highway. It is not noticeable in the bedroom. I lived in a duplex a million years ago, and the girls were not quiet. Hubby talked to them about their late stereo outside our bedroom window--this was southern California and we often just had windows open. When they did not stay respectful I started getting up with hubby at 4:30 in the morning and pounding on the walls or vacuuming the adjoining bedroom to disturb them.

I remember watching a show where they were trying to get neighbors to respect others. And if they wouldn't they would do things like that. I remember one, the neighbor would stay up all hours of the night parting. So to teach them a lesson they got up as early as the law would allow (which was like 6am or something) and started heavy construction on there house. I wanted to do that with the neighbors I had before these. I course I don't have the guts to do it. But i might get out the vacuum sometime in the near future

I am really blessed that I do not have loud neighbors.They are peaceful and very supportive too..!!!
