There were so many signs of an early spring

For a while I though winter had just decided to pass us by this year. Spring flowers were blooming. First it was the Forsythia and then the Hellebore were next. After those the dandelions started to bloom. On Saturday I was planting daffodil bulbs and a few others I just didn't have time to plant due to the holidays and regular life drama going on over the last couple months. I found snow crocus blooming. Oh shoot those usually bloom in the spring and in the snow. But it was to nice out for snow to be coming. Wrong we got snow on Saturday night and into Sunday. And now its so cold out I think winter had finally found us here in Ohio I just want it to go away. Here is the photo of my snow crocus blooming.

I have never heard of snow crocus but it is a lovely flower. I really need to get some bulbs going in my yards. I am glad to see that you have joined us on MyLot, I think you will like the site.

@cyberrat Can you leave these bulbs in the ground year round? I used to do some that I needed to dig up and place in vermiculite over the winter and it got to be a drag.

Thank you, bulbs are awesome to grow daffodils being my favorite but crocus comes in a very close second. I even have them growing in the house by forcing them so much you can do with bulbs

It is the same here in the UK. The daffodils are up and crocus are out but last night we had snow here! They will all die poor things before their time!

Love the photo. We ran away from home because of the forecast and it was a good thin we did, we would have been stuck on the highways. IM in Florida and it was supposed to freeze last night. Plants were covered, it was 40 when I got up... I gave those flowers every where at home in the spring.

Beautiful shot and flower. We seem to be getting spring weather right now, it's in the 50s and low 60s for now but being the first seesaw season it could easily get cold again.

I love those flowers and have a few to watch out for myself come spring. We've had a bit colder weather than you it seems. The snow didn't come until after Christmas this year, but we've had several snow falls and very brisk, chilly weather since then, but off and on. I had time to get some bulbs into the ground before Christmas this year since the ground didn't freeze yet, which was great. I purchased about four packages throughout the summer/fall. Usually it takes me several years to get them planted as I work two jobs until after the year ends. I look forward to sharing some of my new flowers this next year, although my pictures won't be as sharp as yours are.
