When a beloved pet dies

They say ''no man is an island'', I guess that explains why we always long for someone to be with us. For years humans have found friendship and comfort not only from their fellow human beings but to other four legged creatures. May it be a cat, a mouse or a dog, they have catered to our need of companionship. In time, what we call before as ''pets'' are now also known as '' friends, family or children''. Most of the people no longer consider them as a property, we slowly see them as ''someone'' and not as ''something''. They have showed us how they too can show their love, care and share friendship in their own unique way, Without a word people who have a pet knows exactly how they can change our lives, how they brought us laughters and inspire us kindness. We loved them so much that one of our greatest fear, and that is the sad reality that we all know that they don't get to live like us. Their life span is shorter compare to a human, and so as the happiness that they can give us. I myself have 3 kids, my 6 year old chihuahua named ''Momoshin'', 3 year old pekines named ''Imadori'' and my youngest who is an 11 month old rottweiler ''Chiquitin''. They are all unique and has their own personality and are loved not only by me but my family. Last December 30, 2014 we lost our first rottweiler named ''Iori'' for unknown reason. He was a healthy 6 month old puppy, a naughty and playful little puppy. His death was so sudden that even vets didn't find any probable cause for his death. His death was something that we never saw coming, especially for his very young age. Because it was so sudden I don't even get to say my goodbyes or whisper to his ear how much I love him before he passed away. I have had pets died before from my pet chicken, pet bird to a dog. No matter what reason why they died the pain is the same and it really takes time for me to be able to move on. My Japanese teacher once told me, that I should just stop having pets because having pets can only bring you heartache when they die. I know it's true, but what makes us keep on having them knowing that they don't live that long? I know one day one of my fur babies will need to leave me even if they don't want to. Just thinking about it, I can't stop to fear and feel sad of how my life would be without them. For me, they are not just pets I also understand that they are not humans, but they are living being that I have loved and cared for so dearly. I know that if they die I will get hurt but the memories and joy that they have shared with me are enough reasons for me to always love them and not fear to love another pet that may come into my life. If there is something that I have learned from having my fur babies in my life, is that loving someone never comes with a ''no pain'' guarantee, but with our pets it sure comes with a love for a life time guarantee. So love without fear and love with all your heart, for your pet had always loved you that way. *In memory of my beloved dog and son IORI. * In this picture was one of his favorite place to play with his brothers , my bed.
