We have different reality games in our respective countries. In India the most famous one in the history of television has been "Kaun Banega Crorepati" whose English translation is "Who wants to be a Millionare". I'm sure many of you have heard of it. Here, the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan acts as the quizzer, and after answering each question right, the person advances to the next question winning a certain amount of money. The maximum one can attain right now is 5 crores or 50 million rupees.....I have been a frequent watcher of this show right from the childhood and it is great for learning the tidbits in such entertaining way. Another one I watch now is the regional Bengali game show, Dadagiri. It is moderated by Sourav Ganguly, the retired Captain of Indian Cricket Team. The game show here is a bit complex, consisting of rounds, played between representatives of all the districts of West Bengal state of India. It is the most popular show on Bengali television right now, and Dada acts as a marvellous co-ordinator. Here we see people challenged by general knowledge, trick questions, aptitude questions all enveloped in humour and light-heartedness. Each episode ends with a prize for the winning district. At the season end, the districts with highest points compete to become the ultimate champion, and proceedings are given towards betterment of that district. The show is very nice and sometimes distinguished or talented people of our state come to play: watching them is a privilege. What about your countries? Are there any famous game shows on tv? There are loads in India but I just described the ones I love watching. Do share your thoughts

Every European country has its own version of "Who wants to be a Millionaire", I watched this show in France and I watched another version in Italy. It was popular several years ago, I do not believe it's still broadcast.

I see. Yes the show is very old, and even here it has become infrequent but I think a season happened last year too. I didn't know every European country has a version of the show.

We also had "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" South Africa, and we also had "The Weakest Link" South Africa, but that was quite a while back. I now watch shows from the UK, like "The Chase" and "Pointless".

Yes I've heard about the American one....probably the idea of doing an Indian version came from there.
