A lady that works with my daughter in-law had a massive brain aneuyasm and has been off of work for quite some time now. My daughter in-law said she talked to her friend who will be seeing the doctor in 2 days and is hoping he will release her back to work part time. When this happened to her she was visiting in another town and the closest large air vac could not take her to their hospital nearby so they had to air vac her to another state and now she said they just received the bill for the air vac, it was close to $28,000. This is just the one bill. One week after this happened to her the company her husband worked for closed its doors with on advance notice and gave her husband his last paycheck and said you no longer have any health insurance although on his paystub they had taken out the money for his insurance. I think they will have to go to a lawyer over this to have the insurance pay for the air vac.

It did happen while he was still employed by the company. Probably take forever but getting what is rightfully yours is important and worth it.

@celticeagle Yes he was employed by the company when this happened so I think they would have a good case to take to a lawyer.

Oh wow! That's a lot to go through. I pray that the insurance will pay. I feel bad for the woman and her husband.

@Teep11 I hope the insurance will at least pay something. I think the people from where she works will b taking up a collection to help at last in some small way.

@boiboing I thought that a company had to honor your hospital plan for one month but that might have changed.
