What exactly is a wintry mix?

To us, a wintry mix could be defined as the lovely vegetables we like to use in our homemade soups. These vegetables might include cabbage and other goodies that will grow in cold weather. The weather forecast says we will have a wintry mix tomorrow...hmmm..they probably mean sleet or ice and snow. Can't wait. We'll be eating our homemade soup with the winter vegetables while we watch that mess fall from the sky. Have you seen a wintry mix falling in your area yet?

Never heard of a wintry mix of vegetables. We have mostly just snow not rain and snow lately.

I think wintry mix means winter where the sun, snow, some clouds, and higher than normal temperature come together in a day or two! It is happening here in Calgary right now!

We get a wintry mix multiple times a year, especially in the fall and spring. I hate driving in a wintry mix more than just plain snow, but not quite as much as freezing rain alone.

We usually just get snow in the winter. So the wintry mix we had a few days ago was quite odd. Mainly rain and a bit of snow.

New jersey is expecting a massive snow storm. They're calling for over a foot this weekend. I'd trade the snowstorm for a wintery mix any day haha
