Okay, So I Watch Wrestling....

I'm writing this as a spur-of-the-moment thing, but it's on my mind and I want to get it off my chest. Yes, I watch the WWE. Yes, I enjoy wrestling. If other people don't like it, that's absolutely fine, but please respect the fact that it is something I enjoy. The matches are predetermined; so they know who is going to win in advance. The guys are trained to take the bumps, which is why they ask fans not to try it at home, because we're not trained to do so. There have been wrestlers who have ended their careers, wound up in a wheelchair or sadly died because one simple move went terribly wrong. So yes, these guys and gals risk a lot, whether it's scripted or not. And now that I have explained that, I'm going to state that I may not respond to anymore comments telling me it's fake, so and so doesn't like it, etc. I'm not sure how you would want me to respond to "I don't like wrestling" type comments anyways, nor do I want to go into the same song and dance about how it works. I try to post about different things on here because I know not everyone likes wrestling, BUT, there ARE wrestling fans who follow me on here (and vice-versa), so please know that my WWE-related posts are usually directed towards them. You all are not obligated to read or comment on my posts, and of course you're welcome to skip over my WWE-related ones. I totally understand. I'm not mad at anyone, but I just wanted to throw that out there before I make anymore wrestling-related posts because I have dealt with this on various websites. Thanks and take care.

You're allowed to like it. Not everyone enjoys it, but whether you do or not, you're entitled to your likes and dislikes. We are all different. If you enjoy watching it, then you should continue to watch it.

I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but people should respect your likes and dislikes. I didn't know it was scripted so I found that interesting.

Thank you so much for understanding. I really do appreciate that. And yep, they decide on the winners in advance (and sometimes change their minds constantly beforehand), and they're trained to wrestle, but unfortunately the injuries do occur. One wrestler by the name of Seth Rollins did a move -and he landed on his feet- but wound up tearing something in his knee, had to have it surgically repaired and now he's out for 6-9 months. All it takes is one move or wrong landing. Randy Orton, one of my faves, has been working with a shoulder injury for months (he was born with hypermobile shoulders so that doesn't help) - and it finally dislocated while taking out the trash. Their bodies go through a lot, especially when they wrestle often. :-/

I wasn't talking about you; I was speaking generally because I have dealt with it on various websites, and I have heard worse about it. Thanks though, and sorry for the confusion.

Did you enjoy the show? Let me know if any the old guys pop up. Is Ric Flair still around?

@whiteream It's just in his blood. Speaking of the old schoolers, I think we're due for an HBK appearance, someone needs to go find him lol.

Ric Flair is actually acting as a manager for his daughter, Charlotte Flair. I enjoyed the show, but cannot say too much without spoiling it for people, but I do wish there would have been more surprise entrants like that.

Awe thanks! That's why I bring it up on here, because I want to discuss it with other fans, not have to defend it all the time.

Hey, nothing wrong with liking wrestling. I'm not big on it personally. The closest I have liked wrestling was when I was a kid I used to play the old school wresting video games on the Nintendo. Yes I feel old writing that. Don't judge me lol.

LOL, I play them on the Sega. Believe it or not, I'm not into playing the WWE games out today. I'm good with the older games, back when they were the WWF lol.

@DanieGirl80587 We had one growing up, and then I received the plug-and-play version for Christmas a few years back. We have the old ones, like Monday Night Raw and Royal Rumble. I found the Rumble at the flea market, and unfortunately, we cannot find the entire box of games we have lol. I don't know why I have never gotten into the newer wrestling games.

I used to watch wrestling when I was younger until I found out it was all acting and eventually lost interest, my favorites were The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austine and Big Show! Awesome childhood memories

It hasn't stopped me from watching; it's no different than enjoying any other show lol. The Rock made an appearance last night, and the Big Show is still active. :) Stone Cold has his own Podcast on the WWE Network now.

I don't like wrestling. Sorry just had to say it. I like to watch Coronation street. I don't care if anyone else likes to watch it or not. People post all the time about how much garbage is on TV but I watch a LOT of TV and like it. So to each his own.

I don't care if people don't like wrestling; that doesn't bother me. But taking grief on various blogging/social sites because I do like it just gets old. I'm usually a trooper about it, but after a while, I feel the need to put my foot down, ya know?

Exactly - I've made some of the best friends I have today, and had some wonderful experiences, all because I'm a wrestling fan. I'll never be ashamed of it, I just want those who don't watch it to just leave it alone and let me enjoy it.
