A Recipe For Disaster

Have you ever witnessed a situation that you just knew was not going to turn out well? You could just see it coming. It happened right in front of me. I was watching two men arm wrestling. We were at an indoor Flea Market and the two men were both vendors there. They had been arguing because we could hear them getting louder. Someone suggested that they settle their argument by arm wrestling. We didn’t know what the argument was about to start with, but they decided to do it. Everyone gathered around the table where they had the contest set up and they both looked very determined. Some rules were given and the contest began, both struggling to out-do the other. It was a pretty even match and you could see the strain on their faces. I was thinking about the strain on their arms and then all of sudden we heard it. “CRACK.” The one man’s arm broke with a loud cracking sound and he screamed in pain. The Rescue Squad had to be called and he was rushed off to the Emergency Room. The thought had just come into my mind, that this was a “recipe for disaster” if ever there was one. I just knew his arm was going to break, but it still shocked me when I heard it crack so loud. Have you ever had something like that happen in front of you, that you just knew in advance that it was a “recipe for disaster?”

I'm glad that you haven't witnessed any disasters. I have seen a few bad situations, but not real disasters, per se. And I'm glad about that, believe me. When I hear of some of the things that some people have to endure, it is so sad.

It sounds painful. I saw youtube videos of this happening. I started watching arm wrestling 2 years ago. I had an accident last year and I knew it was coming. I couldn't stay awake while driving and fell a sleep at the traffic jam. I didn't know how to avoid it, I was too tired to think to stop at the side of the road. It was not a disaster, but it costed me 3500 ils. like half a salary -_-. since then, I started taking naps when at gas stations, when I'm at the road and feel tired, I stop somewhere and close my eyes for some minutes, letting myself to fall a sleep.
