I made the phone call first thing this morning and I will be leaving in approximately an hour to take Pip to the vet. After I called I talked to a friend. I was in tears, and am still not doing too great. However, this morning I knew beyond a shadow of doubt that the decision is a right one, and so does my older son, who will be going with me. I want to thank everyone who has expressed prayers and condolences. I've taken a lot of pictures, so I will have something to remember her by. Thanks for reading.

Heavenly Father I ask you right now to be with Valerie as she goes through this difficult time of watching her beloved pet be put to sleep. let her feel Your presence as she watches Pip slip away into eternity freed from the pain of cancer. Help her through out the time of grief to remember the good times and not the last moments and bring out of the tears a smile and even a laughter that will help to bring her through.

Yes it was. I already miss her. It's so hard not having her here. I cried almost all the way home, though not bad enough to get me in trouble driving. It's hard. She was such a good dog.

I agree. It was hard watching her climb the stairs but she was such a trooper. I really miss her.

@just4him when we lost Mihr I cried on off for a very long time, even now, more than 5 years later now and then it hit me hard.

Yes it was. I still want to bring her in from outside or look down the hallway to see her lying there, but such is not the case.

It's really a hard decision to make, and you are really tough. Glad that your son will be with you. I am sure you'll always remember her. Sending my hugs to you, and hope you'll feel better when time goes by.
