Have you ever gotten anything free from a store from the wrong of the cashier?

I was talking to a friend and I have gotten a lot of things from Walmart for free because of the error of the cashier. Such as today I got 2 cases of pop, awhile back I got 4 bags of litter for free. A number of times it was simple because they weren't paying attention.
My friend insist I go back to the store and pay for it. Well I am not driving 20 minutes to do that. I said I am sure there is a lot of people who have had this happen.

We got a load of groceries a way back and the 4 cases of soda were not checked out. We discovered this when going through the sales tape. We put the soda back into the cart and took it back to the store and went through the checkout and paid for it. My conscience is clear and my son even said it was the decent thing to do.

Working in retail I know they write it off, and something as simple as that is usually shrugged off. I live minimum 20 minutes to and then another back from the store. I don't plan on going into town for 2 weeks either. If I was still in the store or town I would of gone back. But I noticed when I went to put it into my app when I got home.

I would go back to the store and pay for whatever was not charged as one time I was told if the cashier was short it would come out of his/her paycheck. I don't know if that is true at walmart or not but it is dishonest to keep something because of a simple mistake.

Unless they are paying me my gas to get there and back.They write it off what invetory is off.
