Walmart charging 0.05 cents a bag starting Feb 1st

I was reading this article on Facebook, and most stores are becoming this way. I usually get the free bags to use for my garbage bags to save money. But clearly I am switching to reusable bags to save money.

I have not heard of this, I have plenty of reusable bags but I use those free bags also for bathroom trash :)

I think you mean 5 cents, not 0.05 cents.

@ricki_911 No it's not. $0.05 is five cents. 0.05 cents is 5/100 cents.

I hadn't heard that WalMart was going to start this but I know in some States they are doing this in all their stores.

I am not sure if it is certain stores or just all of them.

What makes me upset is that they charge a sales tax on those bags.

Yes, I saw that and was like really this is ridiculous.

Some stores here charge for bags but so far Walmart hasn't. I take my own bags for the grocery store, but usually forget them when I am going to Walmart.

Yes, most stores here charge, except a selected handful now it seems all of them will.

I think I know why. In February, the pay for Walmart workers increases and they are closing stores and firing workers. This is probably another cost cutting strategy.
