I have not heard of this, I have plenty of reusable bags but I use those free bags also for bathroom trash :)

That is what I currently do but a lot of people don't they just throw them out.

@ricki_911 No it's not. $0.05 is five cents. 0.05 cents is 5/100 cents.

I have not heard this yet, but I know if you bring bags to like Target your own they give you $0.05 off

Some stores here charge for bags but so far Walmart hasn't. I take my own bags for the grocery store, but usually forget them when I am going to Walmart.

Yes, most stores here charge, except a selected handful now it seems all of them will.

I think I know why. In February, the pay for Walmart workers increases and they are closing stores and firing workers. This is probably another cost cutting strategy.
