The Purple Tub and Wicker Basket

These two things are things I need to tackle next. I have a tub full of stuff that I never use. I am not even sure what's in it anymore. It's just stuff that was my mom's that I put in this tub to keep. I haven't used any of it, and need to go through it to see what can be used and what I need to get rid of. I was holding onto it as memento's but this stuff isn't heirloom type. I have several of the things she's made out on display that were precious to her and that I will keep. I have five days off before I work again. I work tonight but don't work again until next Saturday. I think tomorrow I will come home and do my online dailies and then go to bed, wake up and start the dailies again but also go through this stuff. I also need to go through clothes I never wear. I have a two drawer dresser that has clothes I never wear in it. I need to go through it and put the clothes I do wear in it. I feel as if I am constantly "spring cleaning".

Always good to go through things and sort out what you don't need, no long use.

I have a tendency to put something down to "look at later" and that is what part of the stuff is. Just a matter of decluttering.

It seems the robins around here have the same idea. They seem to be having a early spring here. Hoards of them coming over the house and landing in the tree outside my window. It was like the re-enactment of "The Birds".

An early spring would be good. We have a chance of snow still for us,. When is Groundhogs Day? I forget.

@celticeagle We shall see. Even when we have six more weeks we usually don't get anything but cold temps.

I too need to spring clean. I have so much clothes I don't even reach for because they're shoved into draws. Stuff I buy that I don't use. I need to declutter.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If the clothes are still in great condition (hardly worn) or even new with tags which I have a ton of ~ I sell it on an app through my phone. If the clothes aren't good anymore I'll donate.

@infatuatedbby We have second hand clothes stores and I've gone that route before. I don't really buy designer brands though so I hardly ever make money from it.

THat is my problem. A couple of years ago I spent $100.00 on clothes that I hardly ever wear. I need to go through and either hand me down / around or get rid of it completely.

The clothes I can maybe donate or give to family members. Some of this stuff is like earrings and the such, I might ask my aunt if she'd like them. I had my ears pieced at one time but do not anymore.

Setting goals is a good idea to start. Organizing with a to-do-list is what I do to make it less stressful. I am on a constant spring cleaning right now too. I break down one area at a time and tackle it.

A lot of this stuff is just a matter of organizing. Some of it is a matter of getting rid of it completely. I have a chair in my room that I bought to have a place to sit and do my laptop stuff on? I haven't sat in the chair since about a week after I got it. I had to move stuff from one bathroom to my room as we were having to work on one of the bathrooms. Some stuff never made it back. I have body washes and the such that I could be using!

Too funny, I just posted about Spring Cleaning. I on the same journey. I want to get an early start because I am tired of looking at the mess and I also know this reflects, at least to me, where my mind is. Good luck on your adventure and I am happy you have a few days off.

Nothing beats the feeling after a nice thorough cleaning of the home. I know I will appreciate the hardwork once it's all complete. I too am tired of looking at the mess, especially knowing it can be dealt with.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Exactly, I very much agree with you. I have worked after work today so much that I have a new bare section on my floor. (I rearranged last week for a more open feeling and better flow in my room.) As Gomer would say, Surprise, surprise, surprise.

The story of my life, even with my move. if there are things you want to remember maybe you can take pictures of the things and save them to a disc. You never lose the memories.

That is not a bad idea, taking pictures of the items. Some of it is scrapbooking pages. I may take some of those and cut them into card stock and use them for grocery lists. At one time we had a scrapbooking store that would trade / buy items but I don't know that they'll take this stuff as it's not in pristine condition anymore.

I have a whole room full of stuff I need to go through. Ha. There's a lot of stuff in there I need to get rid of! It's just finding the time to go through it that seems to be the problem...

Same here - I've just moved back home and I'm five months pregnant so I have to go through all my clothes and store away anything I can't wear until after the birth and (hopefully) subsequent weight loss. I also need to do some job search online - it's quite disheartening because I have to take time out of actually looking and applying for jobs so I can jump through the jobcentre's hoops and complete my tasks the way they want me to

Not always an easy task though. I come from a long line of hoarders.
