I am back after a few days of absence, my friends. Well, we have a stable internet connection and no power interruption, but because of this very erratic climate that we are experiencing now (it was hot last Friday, then it became cool again at dusk, with some brief drizzles too), this caused me to have sneezes and nasal congestion again. I had to wear my sweater while I was making a discussion (about that staff nurse who thought I did not know that Levophed increases the blood pressure), until I logged out with a different feeling. At night, I could not sleep well. The cough I had was so dry; so dry that I felt my eyeballs wish to pop out, and my epiglottis and uvula want to fly away. Again, my voice sounds more transgender-ish, and this was affirmed by my former students when I had some calls from them. (Ma’am, what happened to your voice?”) I only take Clusivol; I think I should take more vitamin C and zinc (like Conzace), but this will depend on my cardiologist’s prescription. I will have my check-up next Wednesday anyway, I can still wait for that time. Increase in lukewarm oral fluid intake, lots of citrus fruits, and more food--- I practice that; however, I have no sense of taste. I have appetite but no taste. I gargle with Listerine and Bactidol to no avail. I had to take a cup noodle YAKISOBA for lunch because it was spicy, but I was able to consume half of it. I ate a piece of orange given by a former student; still, no taste. Sadly, that is the prize of having a very dry cough!

that is why I visited my cardiologist this noon (my sister was so worried last night because I cannot stop from coughing, that she texted Dr. RG, and the doctor said he will see me today). it is just allergy.

my immune system is always compromised now, my friend, because I cannot just take in any medication to boost my immunity. I hope the clusivol will do that for me

yes my lady, I decided not to log in here for a few days because I cannot contain my dry cough; so itchy that I wish my esophagus should be out. I went to my cardiologist this 12:30, and my son accompanied me. Last night, I could not stop dry-coughing,and i slept using 3 pillows high. I have allergy, and my heart is safe as it is.

Erratic weather certainly does not help with a bad cough or cold. Try to keep warm, and yes, fruit is good to boost the immune system, so try to eat more of that @ridingbet . I hope something will work to make you feel better soon.

yes, my friend. I keep myself warm, whether when I am in the hospital or when i am home. I wear sweaters and socks too. and even though I cannot taste the food well, I still eat.

@ridingbet . . Well, dry cough is not a sign of old age, my friend. Everyone, young and not so young, suffer from dry cough once in a while. My wife is old . . although she seldom have dry cough . . she is legally DRY!

naughty you, kabsat! legally dry? why, is your wife older than you? hahaha! the dry cough I have is due to this erratic climate we have here up north. even my students were having some bouts of sneezes and coughs as well.

I hope you feel better soon, seems with weather changes many people get sick. I wonder why that is?

yes, that is the main reason why I am sick again. my heart is fine, and my lungs are also clear. it is due to the allergy from pollens.

partly, I am blaming this erratic climate we have here in my place. I can handle the hot temperature but when it becomes cold, I have sneezes and dry cough again.

By now, I guess you are fit and fine! Cough and cold leaves a side effect on taste buds.

thank you! it is so hard when we are not feeling well; it seems our world is also joining us with our illness. I was not given a whole ward to handle yesterday because the staff nurses thought I cannot handle my students into taking care of the patients, but I said my students can do it.

I'm sorry that you haven't been well again, Ingrid. One of the pleasures of life is eating, it's a pity if you can't enjoy it. I hope you improve soon.
