Last day of our Cruise. Sailing on the water in France

On the last day of our Mediterranean Cruise we were taken from the Port to a town close to Marseille where we went for a lovely boat ride. It was a magical trip as we sailed on the river with huge mountains on either side of us. It seems funny now to think we had been sailing on a huge cruise ship visiting many ports and now were enjoying this lovely small boat ride on a river in France. Perhaps because it was our last day and we would soon be saying goodbye to our ship, the Regal Princess and all the new friends we had made. The weather was perfect and on the way we were regaled with many stories of the history of this place. It was a trip that will remain forever in my memory.

Cruising has never appealed to me but I'm glad you had a good time.

Cruising is not really appealing to me, but my husband hates cruising. We had one the year after we married, it was a marriage gift, he still remember with horror.

Was this a recent cruise? I must admit that when we've been on a cruise we don't take outings that put us on more water. Glad you enjoyed it.

@jaboUK No it was in 2014. On this particular Cruise we had excurstions every day. One of the passengers had organised them as she has had lots of experience. The boat on the river was the only water outing, the rest were walking and walking around Europe.

I think by the time you reach home, you will miss the cruising experience. After my first cruise, I kept talking about it until everyone was sick of hearing it. I have booked the second cruise, and now researching for the third one.

This sounds idyllic. I loved the cruise we went on and could easily go again sometime.

It was a lovely time Judy. I am really going to have to learn how to make my photos fit for My Lot. Next year hopefully I will be doing a Carribean Cruise.

I have tried a cruise ship in Goa but other than that my experience is very limited. Travelling and meeting new people is a great social exercise provided we have the resources. Looks like you had an amazing experience.

It must have been lovely to have gone there and it is interesting to hear the history of places you go to.
